Your time and assistance are critical to our children getting the most out of their scheduled library time. There are two types of Library volunteer opportunities: Classroom Helper and Library Technician:
Classroom Helpers assist a designated homeroom every time they visit the library. The responsibilities for Helpers include returning books to the library needing to be checked in prior to their visit, helping students find books they are interested in using the online catalog, finding books on the shelves and straightening the shelves before leaving. This is a 30 minute volunteer time every other week commitment from September to May.
**Library Technicians** work a 2.5 hour shifts weekly schedule or every other week from September through June of the school year. The responsibilities for Library Techs include, but are not limited to: circulation of books, re-shelving books, placing holds, book repair, enforcing library policies, supervision of students and completing end of the year Inventory. Library Technicians must feel comfortable using a computer and must be detailed-oriented. For new volunteers, is it required for the Library Technician to volunteer weekly for the first month then transition to an every other week schedule.
We would like to remind you that per Diocesan requirements, volunteers need to be fingerprinted through the Diocese of Orange and must complete the online safe environment training. CLICK HERE to be redirected to see the requirements.
Preschool Volunteers – please contact Toni Botterill at email@example.com for additional volunteering requirements.
These requirements must be met prior to any volunteering on Campus.
