Educational Costs (Formerly Tuition & Fees) 

The Educational Cost model streamlines costs. Educational Cost is comprised of all previously segregated fees to include registration, tuition, technology, STEAM/Art, school supplies, classroom fees, field trip fees and plant maintenance assessments. Eighth grade graduation event fee and over-night field trips are invoiced separately. School uniforms must be purchased separately through Dennis Uniform. Our fundraising efforts help keep our Educational Costs down.

The Educational Costs for the 2018-2019 school are $12,090 per student.

How can I reduce my Educational Cost?

Scrip Rebate Program
You can reduce your Educational Cost through our Scrip Rebate Program.  Families receive 50% of EVERY scrip rebate dollar as a credit toward educational costs.  Additionally, the remaining 50% of EVERY scrip rebate dollar will be recognized as a tax deductible donation to SJSC. There is no limit to earned rebates which equates to extensive savings for our families!

529 Education Savings Plan Can Now Help With SJSC Tuition
The Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 allows families to withdraw up to $10,000 tax-free from their 529 savings plan to pay for private school tuition. These educational savings plans were traditionally used by families to invest and save for their children's college tuition. This new law, which became effective January 1, 2018, opens up this tax benefit to families for K-12 private school tuition. We encourage all SJSC families to check with their tax professional or financial adviser for more information about this new law.  

How are Educational Costs different from Tuition?

In a tuition-based model all fees are a la carte. Our Educational Cost model has endeavored to provide our parents with the true cost assessed to our parents for the education of their student(s).

How can I pay my Educational Cost?

After a 10% non-refundable deposit equal to $1,209.00 per student of your Educational Cost, SJSC offers a multitude of payment options to our families allowing for maximum flexibility.  After deposit, the balance of $10,881.00 may be paid in the following manners:

One annual payment due in July each year
Two semi-annual payments due in July and December each year
10 monthly payments commencing July of each year
11 monthly payments commencing July of each year
12 monthly payments commencing July of each year

Is there a multi-student discount?

Yes. A multi-student discount is available for families with three or more students.

3 students: 5% for all students
4 students: 10% for all students
5 students: 15% for all students
6 or more students: 25% for all students 

Family involvement at St. Serra

Our dynamic SJSS community thrives on our parents' time, talent, and treasure. To best manage these resources, each family is required to perform sixty (60) hours of service benefiting the school. There are a multitude of volunteer opportunities which meet this requirement and allow for you to get involved in this great community. Each family is responsible for recording their service hours online via the SJSC Website Service Hours Parent Portal.
