Fall Classes Begin October 5, 2017

Showtime Dance Company will be providing an after school enrichment dance program for Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd grade students. This class is a combination dance class that will include instruction and introduction to a variety of dance styles, including: Tap, Jazz/Hip-Hop, Ballet, and Musical Theater/Song & Dance. The teacher's name is Miss. Sarah Johnston and the class will be held from 1:50 - 2:40 pm, October 5, 2017 - May 31, 2018

Super Soccer Stars

Super Soccer Stars teaches soccer skills in a fun, non-competitive and
educational environment. Through our age-specific curriculum, we
use soccer to nurture, build self-confidence and develop teamwork.

After-School Computer Science Class

After-school computer science class

Open to grades 4 - 8

Come and learn the basics of computer programming using scratch!

Miss Thomas will introduce students to this fun program.

Classes will be held Mondays and Thursdays from 2:45-3:55 p.m. in the PEB tech lab.

Students will learn computer science skills while they animate their own digital creations! Students will use the computer to design animated stories, games, and their very own studio logo. While Computer Science Class members build, create, and play, they learn important skills that will help open future educational and career opportunities.

MUSIC AND SOUND: Make. Code. Music. Create your own digital music and sounds! Use the computer to design your own music, create your own instruments and music videos, and learn how technology is used in the music industry!

SPORTS: Teamwork. Athletics. Coding.
Go for the win with computer science! Use computer science to simulate extreme sports, make your own fitness gadget commercial, and create commentary for a big sporting event. Learn more and use tech concepts that are improving the sports you love.

No previous computer science is necessary.

Golf Squad

Fall Classes Begin the Week of October 2, 2017

PGA Professionals come to campus to lead students through a socially based curriculum designed for juniors that creates enthusiasm for the game of golf. Hands on activities and exercises allow the class to experience the positive culture and values that are associated with golf. Boys and girls of all ages and skill levels are welcome. Piano Lessons

Semi-Private and Private Piano and Keyboard Instruction

Explore your child's musical ability and potential through Piano as instructed by Mr. Gene Ho. Mr. Ho has over 20 years of experience as a private Piano Instructor in Orange and Los Angeles counties.

Instruction will include:

  • Emphasis on Note Reading and Sight Reading for each new lesson
  • Learn all types of music from Classical to Pops
  • Knowledge of Scales and Chord Systems
  • Technical exercises for finger dexterity and velocity
  • Music Theory and Harmony
  • Memorization Techniques for Intermediate and Advanced Students

Class size will be limited to one or two students per class. Classes are offered at three different time periods per day, four days per week. Select the time and day best suited for your schedule.

After class, Mr. Ho will take students to the appropriate dismissal location.

Academic Chess Classes

Each week your child will get an exciting lesson as well as a chance to play other students in the class! Chess increases IQ and teaches children to:
  • think deeply
  • gain confidence
  • solve problems
  • develop patience
  • evaluate positions
  • compete well
  • visualize results
  • strategize and plan
Chess if offered for students in Grades 1 - 8. Students are to go to the Chess classroom (PEB 121) immediately following dismissal. After Chess, an Academic Chess employee will take students to the appropriate dismissal location.

Drawing Classes - Young Rembrandts

Young Rembrandts is back at St. Serra on Mondays in 2017

October 2, 2017 - December 4, 2017
No class October 30 & November 20

Young Rembrandts will be providing after-school drawing classes for students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade. Students will have a new and exciting lesson every class. They will learn fundamental drawing skills incorporating two artist concepts in drawing and color technique each lesson. Classes will be held on Mondays from 1:55p.m. - 2:40p.m. for Grades K - 2.

After class, a Young Rembrandt's employee will take students to the appropriate dismissal location. This employee will stay with the students until all students are picked up.

Stem & More Robotics

Automation Robotics: Discover the heart of the machine - Grades K - 2

In this unique course, Students will investigate various control systems to obtain a better understanding of operating equipment. They will learn to minimize human intervention, and to protect the environment by saving energy and materials, and improving quality, accuracy and precision. Our courses support the Common Core standards in S.T.E.M.

Medieval Times Robotics.: When the past meets the future - Grades 3 - 5

Students investigate the fascinating and astonishing worlds of medieval machinery and robotics. With this one of a kind program, students will have the opportunity to revive old and classic machinery using new and cutting-edge technology.

Fun Fact- Kids will take home every model built throughout these courses!
