Used Book Donations

Calling all SJSC families…

As you clean out your bookshelves, please consider donating your gently used books to the library to help round out our collection.

We are particularly interested in recently published books (2012 to present) and/or any hard cover (no staple bound books please) that would be suitable for our library. We would especially like all non-fiction, especially those used for school reports.

All Books need to be dropped off in the Library.

Volunteering in the Library

Your time and assistance are critical to our children getting the most out of their scheduled library time. There are two types of Library volunteer opportunities: Classroom Helper and Library Technician:

Classroom Helpers assist a designated homeroom every time they visit the library. The responsibilities for Helpers include returning books to the library needing to be checked in prior to their visit, helping students find books they are interested in using the online catalog, finding books on the shelves and straightening the shelves before leaving. This is a one hour every other week commitment from September to May.

Library Technicians work a 2.5 hour shift weekly or a minimum of every other week. The responsibilities for Tech include, but are not limited to: circulation of books, re-shelving books, placing holds, book repair, enforcing library policies and supervision of students. Library Technicians must feel comfortable using a computer.

Please email Ms. Marisa Mascorro at to discuss available volunteer opportunities.

We would like to remind you that per Diocesan requirements, volunteers need to be fingerprinted through the Diocese of Orange and must complete the online safe environment training. CLICK HERE to be redirected to see the requirements.

Preschool Volunteers – please contact Toni Botterill at for additional volunteering requirements.

These requirements must be met prior to any volunteering on Campus.

Thank you for your support!
