Sir Frances Drake

Sir Frances Drake was an English explorer from 1577-1580. He was a pirate who was sent by Queen Elizabeth to sail around the tip of South America. Drake became the first Englishman to sail around the world. He also defeated the Spanish Armada and claimed California for England.
