Chester A. Arthur

By Alex Simmons

My report is on Chester A. Arthur he “looked like a president.” When he became president he was eager to prove himself above machine politics. He was often seen with the elite of Washington, New York, and Newport. Arthur was born in Fairfield, Vermont, in 1829. He suffered from a fatal kidney disease and died in 1886. He was a republican.
