Herbert C. Hoover

President Herbert C. Hoover is the thirty- first president, and he is important to me and my country. In my opinion, he picked a tough time to be president. He was president through the Great Depression and between the World Wars.  Because the Great Depression occurred right after he became president, people blamed him for the Depression and the suffering of the people of the United States of America. He was the person everyone looked to in this huge time of need.  I believe that he is important because he had to do more than any person should have to. He had to do the best he could to be positive, help as many people as possible, and do the job of any regular president, such as meeting the rulers of other countries, deciding whether or not to construct new government buildings in certain areas, deciding whether or not to pass specific laws, and do not forget that he had his own family to be with as well.  In the end, I admire him for being able to achieve so much in his four, short years of presidency.
