Harry S. Truman
By: Carlie McNiff
In my opinion, I think Harry S. Truman, who was our 33rd president, was a great president, but most importantly a great man. He fought in World War II and knew how to work and support his country, as well as how to make crucial decisions. Harry was a presiding judge and a senator before he became the President of the United States. This shows that he worked his way up to receive that huge role and responsibility. He was also a father and a husband so he had a lot of patience to offer to his co-workers and most importantly the country. He used his decision making talents very well as president. For example, he decided to drop bombs, and Japan then surrendered. On his second term, as president he tried to keep peace by making treaties and alliances. He was the recipient of the Freedom Award, as well. Harry S. Truman handled difficult situations very well and knew how to run the country. Therefore, he was an outstanding leader and a very involved president.
