President Grover Cleveland

After the civil war, President Grover Cleveland (22nd and 24th president) was the first Democrat elected. He was the only president to leave the White House and then return for another turn after four years. He won the Presidency with support from both the Democrats and reform Republicans. He was also the only president married in the White House. During the Depression, his policies were generally detested. His party abandoned him and elected William Jennings Bryan in 1896. These are a few facts about President Grover Cleveland. These facts show that he is great American because he had passion for his career as President, therefore he returned to the White House after four years. He was popular with both the Republicans and Democrats which helped him in the election.
