Abraham Lincoln

Abraham Lincoln was the sixteenth President of the United Stats of America. He was born on February 12, 1809 in Hodgenville, Hardin County, Kentucky. His parents were both born in Virginia. His mother died when he was ten years old. Lincoln worked on a farm, splitting rails for fences, and keeping store at New Salem, Illinois. He was a captain in the Black Hawk War. He married Mary Todd. In 1858 Lincoln ran against Stephen A. Douglas for Senator. He lost the election. In 1864 he won the re-elections and became are now president. He died in April 15, 1865. He is remembered by his presidency.
