Grover Cleveland

Grover Cleveland

President Grover Cleveland was the 22nd and 24th President of the United States.  During his presidential career, he did not earn a good reputation. He vetoed many pensions that may have helped the veterans of the Civil War. He said they did not deserve the money to help their disabilities. The veterans were outraged and reminded the president that he did not participate to protect the country. A good act Cleveland supported was the Allotment Act. This act supported the Native Americans in gaining land to have a sense of individualism. Unfortunately, the act failed and the Native American population decreased. Grover Cleveland was a great president, but he made many bad decisions.
