Jimmy Carter
Jimmy Carter was the president of the United States from 1977-1981. Jimmy was the 39th president. He was a great American president because he was motivated to make the government “competent and compassionate.” Jimmy Carter tried his best to bring peace between the country, and other countries, besides the United States. Jimmy created peace treaties between countries, such as Israel and Egypt. Also, he wanted to help reduce the racism against the African Americans. After his presidency, Jimmy still tried to bring unity to everyone. He founded the Carter Center, that helped promote human rights, improve public health, and made advances in agriculture. With his great impact in society, Jimmy was later awarded the Noble Peace Prize, in 2002. He was the third president to receive the Noble Peace Prize. In the present, Jimmy Carter continues to bring harmony, by being apart of “Habitat for Humanity,” and carrying on with spreading the Carter Center around the United States.
