            President Rutherford Hayes was the 19th president of the United states. Born in Ohio on October 4, 1822. He was educated at Kenyon College and Harvard law school. During the civil war he was wounded, and rose to the rank of brevet major general. In 1864 he was a representative for Congress of United States. He ran a total of two terms from 1868 to 1872 he was made Governor of Ohio. He served only one term as president and retired to Spiegel Grove in Fremont, Ohio, in 1881. He later died in 1893.
