I. His life                                                

1. He fished with his brother and worked when he was young.
2. He recorded much more of Jesus life than any other disciple.
3. He died in Rome around 64.

                                            II. What virtues he models

1. Leader,
   He is always listed first and is talked about the most. Everyone knows his name and he led us to believe in God, for he was a missionary and Jesus's disciple.
2. Humility,
   He died by being crucified upside down because he said he is not worthy enough to die like Jesus.
3. Trustworthy,
   Jesus trusted Peter because he said that he will give him the keys to heaven and that he is going to build the church upon a rock.

                                                                     III. His importance to our Church

1. He permitted the new church to be universal.
2. He was the first Pope.
3. He was one of Jesus's disciples.
