His life
When he was young he fished with his brother, St. Andrew.
He acted as a true disciple because he did anything that Jesus asked him to do . For example: Jesus asked him to build a church on the rock, and he did it.
He died in Rome about 64 AD.
What virtues he models
Dedication-
Peter showed dedication and commitment when he helped prepare the table, with Jesus, for the memorable moment, the Last Supper.
Trusting-
Peter is trusting because Jesus chose him out of all the other

disciples to build his church on the rock. Jesus must of trusted Peter very much.
Jesus Christ also chose him to guard the gates of Heaven. To guard the gates of
Heaven, you need to have the keys, in addition to that, Peter owns the keys to
Heaven.
Faith -
Jesus wouldn't of chosen Peter to do all of
the things shown above if he
didn't have any, or a little bit of faith in him. He also had a lot of faith because he
made him the very first pope.
His importance to our Church
Jesus came down to him and told him that he was going to build a church on a rock. Jesus told him that he will be welcomed to his kingdom, Heaven.
St.Peter was the very first pope in Rome, Italy. Peter also built the church that the pope uses today. Jesus told him to build the Church on a rock, and the name Peter means rock!
He was the first disciple to perform miracles through out savior Jesus Christ.
