St. Peter

  1. His life
    1. Peter was a native of Bethsaida, he is the son of John and worked like his brother, St. Andrew.
    2. Andrew is the one who introduced Peter to Jesus, and jeus told Peter to become a disciple.
    3. In Luke is recounted the story that Peter caught so large an amount of fish that he fell down before the feet of Jesus and was told by the Lord, "Do not be afraid; from now on you will be catching men."
    4. Jesus also gave Simon Peter the name of Cephas, which means the rock.
    5.  Peter refused to Jesus washing his feet.
    6.  Peter was the first pope of the catholic church.
  2. What virtues he models
    1. Humble -Peter acted humble because he didn't think it felt right to have Jesus wash his feet because Peter feels that he should be the servant and not Jesus.
    2. Bravery - Peter modeled bravery by taking on the responsibility of ruling the catholic church and becoming the pope, but he could of said no to Jesus.
    3. Leadership - Peter followed Jesus' teaching  which caused him to do stuff that the other discple didn't do.
  3. His importance to our Church
    1.   Peter was the first pope of the catholic church.
    2.   Peter continued to teach Jesus' teaching to followers even after Jesus died and rose to heaven.
    3.   Peter's name was changed to "Rock" because he was the foundation of the church.
