St. Peter

Peter's life
- Peter was a Galilean fisherman. His name was originally
Simon. Jesus changed his name from Simon to Peter. He was Jesus' most loyal
disciple.
- When he died he was crucified upside down
because he was not worthy enough to die like Jesus did. His burial place is
beneath the Basilica's high altar.

Loyalty, he is loyal to
Jesus by always staying with him and being a good disciple.
- Courage, Peter has courage for being crucified upside down because
he wasn't worthy enough to die like Jesus,
- Honesty , he is honest to Jesus because he doesn't lie to Him.

His importance to our Church

He was one of Jesus' disciples.

St. Peter was our first pope.

He is always listed first at the disciples. He is buried on Vatican Hill.
