Peter was a native of
Bethsaida, near Lake Tiberias, the son of John, who followed in his brothers footsteps.

His brother Andrew introduced Peter to Jesus, and Christ called Peter to become a disciple.

What virtues he models

St. Peter was crucified upside down on the
Vatican Hill because he didn't feel that he was worthy enough to pass away as
our Lord did. He showed remorse, love, and loyalty for Jesus always.
- Faith because he gave up
his life to follow God

He enter a temple without Jesus to preach the word even though he could have
been killed

His importance to our Church

Peter was the Churches first Pope

Jesus calls peter in the bible the rock for his church by saying "... you are Peter and upon this rock I will build my church...."

Peter was also the first apostle in the new testament
- Peter was the first apostle to perform a miracle
in Jesus' name
