His early life

Peter was a native of Bethsaida, near Lake Tiberias.

He was the son of John.

He worked like his brother, Andrew, as a fisherman on Lake Genesareth.

What virtues he models
- Peter models faith because he was always with Jesus. He was a true follower of Jesus because of the faith he had
in him at all times
- Peter models leadership because he was always the leader of the
group (usually the apostles).
- Peter models compassion because he generously helped Jesus, the
apostles, and other people.

His importance to our Church

St. Peter is considered the "rock" that the catholic church was founded on.

He helped to create and organize the Last Supper

He was the first pope ever.
