St. Peter

 

  1. Early life
    1. Peter was a native of Bethsaida near Lake Tiberias
    2. He was the son of John and worked hard with his brother St. Andrew
    3. Andrew introduced Peter to Jesus and Jesus asked for him to be one of His disciples
    4.  After he caught a ton of fish he bowed down to Jesus and he gave Peter a new name Cephas or the rock
  2. What virtues he models
    1. Faith because he believed in Jesus and followed Him
    2. Courage because he was brave enough to say yes to Jesus
    3. Patience he waited for Jesus in the garden before his death
  3. His importance to our Church
    1. Peter was our first Pope
    2. He was the center of what we built our church on
    3. He is a good role model to people who convert to Catholicism
