  1. Early life
    1. Peter was a native of Bethsaida.
    2. Peter was a fisherman like his brother, Andrew.
    3. Andrew introduced Peter to Jesus, and he was chosen by Jesus to become a disciple.
  2. What virtues he models
    1. Peter died on Vatican Hill upside down because he declared himself unworthy to die in the same manner as the Lord.
    2. Peter shows leadership and he also shows trust in the name of Jesus and God.
    3. Peter also shows that he does not want to be in the same death as the Lord, that's why he was crucified upside down.
  3. His importance to our Church
    1. Because Peter told Jesus that he was the messiah, and the son of the living God, on a rock, Jesus built a church there.
    2. He helped organize the Last Supper, and played a major role in the events of the passion.
    3.   He was the first the first apostle to perform miracles in the name of the Lord.
