The word renaissance means “rebirth” in French. It is characterized by scholars, artists and scientists building on classical Greek and Roman ideas to make new advances in science and the arts.
When and where did the Renaissance begin?
The Renaissance occurred in 1300’s to the 1600’s. It occurred in Florence, Italy and spread though out Europe.
The most influential people in the Renaissance were the explorers because they found new trade routes.
Michelangelo- is a very famous painter. He was a very skilled painter, sculpture, poet, and designer. One of his most famous works is the painting of the Ceiling in the Sistine Chapel in the Vatican.

Claudio Monteverdi- He is a composer who was in the renaissance period and the baroque period. Claudio’s music had a lot of dynamics and very dramatic. He first published his song at the age of 15.

Alighieri- Dante wrote all of his noels and stories in Italian while most of the authors of that time wrote in Latin. Dante’s best work is called The Divine Comedy.
Andreas Veslius was one of the most famous math and science during the Renaissance. His best work was called
How the Renaissance affects us.
The Renaissance affects us in many ways. If the Renaissance period wasn't here, we wouldn't have art, literature, music and many and many more things that we have today. All of the famous people of the Renaissance would be famous anymore, because we wouldn't of even remembered anything that happened. We wouldn't even have the inventions that were made. We wouldn't have the flushing toilet, something that we use a lot.
