The most influential people were the middle class people, because they had more than enough money for food, they had time to spend on entertainment and education, and they had big luxurious houses.  They also knew how to read which was good for understanding a contract.

How the Renaissance affects us.

In the beginning of the Renaissance time period, clocks began to develop.  In 1280, eye glasses were invented.  Another invention made in this time period was flushing a toilet.  Now everyone flushes the toilet.  Without some of these inventions it would be more difficult to do things.  They discovered matches, so they would not have to rub sticks together anymore.  In the 16th century the Italians spread to Europe.  This spread influenced literature, philosophy, art, politics, science, religion, and many other things.  They invented the printing press and reopening trade routes between China and Europe The Renaissance is important to us today because they made many great inventions.  If they did not invent many of these things people would not have the technology we have today.  The Renaissance was the start of the modern age.
