What was the Renaissance?

Renaissance means rebirth that followed Europe’s Middle Ages, Renaissance was a cultural movement in Italy. The Renaissance began in the late Middle Ages.

The Renaissance began in the late Middle Ages and spanned roughly the 14th through the 17th century. The Renaissance occurred in Europe.

The most influential people during the Renaissance were scholars because converted people to new religions.

Art and Architecture

Jules Michelet was born 1798- 1874 in Paris. He was perhaps the first historian to devote himself to anything like a picturesque history of the Middle Ages. I choose Jules Michelet because he devoted himself in history to become the first historian.

Music

Pietro Cerone was an music Italian theorist, singer and priest of the late Renaissance. He was born 1566-1625 in Bergamo. I choose Pietro Cerone because he sounded like a brilliant and religious person.

Literature

Janus Pannonius was a great poet and one of the best known people of Humanist poetry in Europe. He was born 1534-1625 in a small village near the Drava River in a corner of Salvonia. I choose Janus Pannonius because he worked hard and never gave up in becoming a poet.

George Sarton was polymath, historian of science. He was born 1884-1956 in America. I choose George Sarton because he put all of his time and energy in finding knowledge in math and science.
