What was the Renaissance?  The Renaissance means "rebirth" in French. This period was characterized because it was a traditional time when they went back and made this period like the Greeks and Romans.

When and where did the Renaissance begin? The renaissance began in Florence, Italy. It spread throughout Europe during the 1300's.

Art and Architecture  Leonardo Da Vinci was born in 1452 and died in 1519. He lived in Anchiano, Florence, Italy and Amboise,Indre-et-Liore, France. Leonardo Da Vinci was an artist. He painted The Mona Lisa and the Last Supper, and was the architect of the Sistine Chapel. I picked Leonardo Da Vinci because he is a great artist and I love art. I enjoy learning about works of art I the past.
