Lyndon B. Johnson was the thirty-sixth president of the United States. One significant event in his life was that when President John F. Kennedy was shot and killed, he was the vice president. He suddenly was sworn in on the plane and became the new president of the United States. Johnson was the first President to be sworn in by a woman and the first President to be sworn in on a plane.His presidency was most remembered for the Great Society programs and the for the Vietnam War.
