Franklin Peirce

President Franklin Peirce was our countries 14th president. He was born on November 23, 1804, in Hillsborough, New Hampshire. In 1829 New Hampshire gave Franklin Pierce his first public honor, by electing him its representative in the legislature of the state. Then later he became the body speaker of the state. Also he  finally served in the U.S House of Representatives in 1833-1837.  Then  in 1842 Pierce resigned his seat and returned to New Hampshire to practice law. Then when the Mexican War started  Pierce enlisted into the army  and soon became a Brigadier General. After serving in the Mexican War he was proposed by New Hampshire friends for the Presidential nomination in 1852.Was elected on March 8,1853 to March 4,1857.
