Text Box: Theodore "Teddy" Roosevelt

    Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th president.  There were no wars during his presidency but when he was younger he fought in the Spanish- American War. One of the things he was remembered for was being the name sake of the Teddy Bear. On November 14, 1901  he was hunting in Louisiana  with some friends.  He walked and saw a wounded baby bear. He ordered no one to shoot it  the bear and forbade anyone from shooting. also he smoked and was in a wheelchair. His most famous quote was "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
