William Howard Taft

William Howard Taft was 27th the president. He was sent to the Phillipines by President McKinley in 1900 as chief civil administrator. In 1903, President Roosevelt offered him a seat in the Supreme Court. Then, President Roosevelt appointed him as Secretary of War, and by 1907 Roosevelt decided Taft should be his successor. In 1921, he was appointed Chief Justice by President Warren Harding. He his presidency ended, and he died on March 8, 1930 in Washington D.C.
