William Mckinley

William Mckinley was the twenty-fifth president of the United States of America. He became president in 1896, beating William Jennings Bryan. During his presidency, Mckinley agreed to a Treaty of Annexation with representatives from the Republic of Hawaii. He also led the country in the Spanish-American War bringing Guam, Philippines, Cuba, and Puerto Rico under American Control. He was also the commander in the Phillippine-American War which began in 1899. In 1900, he was re-elected president of the United States of America, serving his second term. During is presidency, the Gold Standard Act was ratified. On September 6, 1901, William Mckinley was shot twice by anarchist Leon Czolgosz in Buffalo, New York. He passed away on September 14, 1901. His presidency will be remembered by the Spanish-American War and the annexation of Hawaii.
