John Tyler

John Tyler was born on March,1790 in Charles City Count, Virginia. He loved to play the violin. He attended The College of William and Mary and he studied law. John Tyler served in the House of Representatives from 1816 to 1821. John Tyler was also governor of Virginia from 1825 to 1827. He was elected as a Jacksonian to the United State Senate in 1827. He acceded to the Presidency upon the death of President Harrison on April 4, 1841. He became the tenth president. He served as president from 1841 to 1845. The 1844 presidential election was a fight between Tyler, Polk, and Henry Clay. John Tyler, in 1861, served in the provisional Confederate congress. He then died of bronchitis. He died on January 18, 1862 in Richmond Virginia.
