Lyndon Johnson

Lyndon Johnson was born on August 27, 1908, in central Texas. Historical events that had happened in his life are that in 1937 he campaigned for the House of Representatives. He ran twice for Senate and won both times.  Also, he became the youngest Minority Leader in Senate history. Lyndon became the 36th  president in 1963. During his presidency,  he did a lot of things that he is remembered for. Some on those things are that he started the Great Society, compromised liberal legislation including the civil rights law. He also started Medicare which is health care for the elderly and Medicaid which is a health care for the poor.
