Franklin Pierce

Franklin Pierce was born in Hillsboro, New Hampshire on November 23, 1804. In 1828, Pierce began his political career. He served as a speaker in1832 to 1833. Then soon after he was elected a democrat to the 23rd and 24th congress. He was only 27 years old and was the youngest representative. He was elected by the New Hampshire General Court as a Democrat to the United States Senate in1837, and served from 1837 to 1842. After his service in the Senate, Pierce resumed the practice of law in Concord. He was elected president in 1852. He was the 14th president and served as the president of the United States from 1853 to1857. He died on October 8, 1869 in Concord, New Hampshire
