President John Adams

By: Kaili Tidland

President John Adams was the second president of the United States of America. Adams was born on October 30, 1735.  He was the Vice President for George Washington.  He was later elected President during the war between the French and British and was the first president to live in the White House. The French insulted Congress and were referred to as "X, Y, and Z." The nation broke out in "X. Y. Z." fever and the Federalists had never been more popular. Congress passed Alien and Sedition acts to scare foreign agents out of the United States and stop attacks on Republican editors. Long negotiation with France ended the Quasi war. John Adams died on July 4, 1826.
