President William Henry Harrison

    President William Henry Harrison was the 9th president of the United States.  William Harrison studied classics and history at Hampden-Sydney College, then began the study of medicine in Richmond. In 1791, he switched interests and joined the Regular Amy where he spent most of his life.  In 1798 he became the Secretary of the Northwest Territory. Soon the Indians became a threat to the settlers, the had a major war with Tecumseh and the Prophet. At the Battle of Thames on 1813 he defeated the combined British and Indian forces. He became the president in 1841, but only after one month he died on April 4,1841. President William Harrison was most noted for his successful role in protecting the country from Indian attacks. We now live in peace with the Indians because of his bravery and courage.
