Franklin Delano Roosevelt

The 32nd president of the United States was Franklin Delano Roosevelt. He was born on January 30, 1882 in New York. He went on to graduate from Harvard University and marry Theodore Roosevelt's niece, Eleanor Roosevelt. He started his political career in the New York Senate. After serving two terms on the senate he was then appointed to Assistant Secretary of the Navy. In 1921 Franklin became paralyzed from the waist down due to polio. In 1928 he continued with his political career as the New York governor. In 1932 he started his presidential career, winning by nearly 7 million votes. In 1940, after serving as president two terms in a row, Franklin amazed the world by becoming the only president to serve for 3 terms. His death finally came on April 12, 1945 from both a heart attack and the disease Cerebral Hemorrhage.
