William McKinley

President William McKinley was the 25th President of the United States and served almost two terms (1897-1901) but was unable to complete it because of a sudden assassination in New York of 1901. He was president after Grover Cleveland and prior to Theodore Roosevelt. During McKinley's terms of Presidency he was president during the 100-Day War which included the United States and Mexico. The United Sates won in Cuba and seized Maila in the Philippines and occupied Puerto Rico. William McKinley is remember for being the first one to use the telephone for campaign reasons, the first president to ride in an automobile, and America became a world power for the first time because they gained territories of the Philippines and Puerto Rico.
