Abraham Lincoln

By: Bridget Farmer

Abraham Lincoln was the 16th President of the United States.  During Lincoln's life time, the Civil War was held.  Lincoln's presidency is remembered for leading America through the Civil War, and taking a notice to the issue of slavery and, with the Emancipation Proclamation, freed all slaves in all territories held by Confederates.  Lincoln was also the person who kept our nation together during the war.  Lincoln's death was shocking, and a sad day for America, however, we will always remember him and what he did for this country.
