Theodore Roosevelt was the 26th and the youngest person ever to become president at 43 years old. He was a lieutenant colonel and led a charge at the battle of San Juan, New York State Governor in 1898 and even won the Nobel Peace Prize. All these accomplishments must add up to an intelligent and wonderful person and Theodore Roosevelt was. The teddy bear supposedly comes from him after he refused to shoot a bear. Toy makers made a stuffed bear for him naming it "Teddy" after his name, Theodore. Also, Roosevelt ensured the Panama Canal's construction, added to national forests in the West, reserved lands for public use and encouraged irrigation projects. Theodore Roosevelt is greatly appreciated, respected, loved, and remembered around the globe and always will be.
