Richard Nixon cared very much for his country, citizens and armed forces. These are some of the main reasons that wanted to become a president.Reconciliation was the first goal set by Richard M. Nixon. During his term in office Nixon succeeded in ending American fighting in Vietnam and improving relations with the U.S.S.R. and China. He cared for the peace of his country as well as the peace of the citizens and nations previously mentioned. This is why he wanted to grant peace to the nations listed above.Richard Nixon attended Duke University Law School which is where he began to strive to achieve his goal. He took major duties in the Eisenhower administration and accomplished revenue sharing, no draft, anticrime laws, and an environmental program as well as set out to reduce tensions with Russia. This proved that he was very educated and cared for the major priorities regarding his country and he also cared for the young citizens in the country by ending the draft. He also limited the strategic nuclear weapons with a treaty limit that had an impact on world peace.When he was faced with being impeached, Richard Nixon announced that he would resign the very next day. He said that his achievements were not enough to hold the countries respect for the misfortunes that had occurred during his presidency.Nixon did all he could to provide is country with peace to his citizens. He did everyone good in his country until the citizens were pressuring him to resign and impeach. He did all this until falling to his death in 1994.
