            President William McKinley extended Americas reach, winning new territories he contributed to this great nation in too many ways to count.  He served in the civil war officer. The contribution he made in the war might of made the difference in winning or loosing if every little counts what does a lot do? This war time experience also gave him the leadership qualities he needed to be a productive, contributing president. He spent fourteen years in office, which started a republican dominance for the next presidents. This unified the nation, because it wasn’t so politically split. He won territories such as Puerto Rico and the Philippines. These territories are helpful in war today
