Ronald Reagan  

    Ronald Reagan a republican severed through 1981-1989 as the 40th president and was the oldest president to serve at age sixty-nine.  During his presidency he was known as the Great Communicator.  For example, he was able to effectively communicate his political ideas to both Democrats and Republicans. Which was demonstrated when he ran for the office of presidency.  Reagan was able to persuade numerous democratic voters to vote for him. President Reagan’s background was very different then presidents who served before.  For example, he was the first Hollywood actor to be elected president and he also is the first and only president to be divorced. For example, Ronald Reagan was also the first president to appoint a women to the United States Supreme Court.  Sandra Day O’Connor was confirmed by a vote of 91-8 and confirmed by the Senate as an associate justice of the Supreme Court.  Although Ronald Reagan is the oldest president to hold office he was reelected in a landslide victory and will always be remember as the Great Communicator.
