Woodrow Wilson

Woodrow Wilson, elected in 1912, was a president who was the true personal representative of the people. “No one but the President seems to be expected…to look out for the general interests of the country,” said Wilson.  Woodrow’s concern for the common good of the public earned him the position of the 28th president.  In 1917, he proclaimed American entrance into World War 1 a crusade to make the world “safe for democracy.”  Wilson’s positive attitude led America into World War 1 after trying his best to keep the U.S. away from the violence of war. The President, against the warning \s of his doctors, had made a national tour to mobilize public sentiment for the treaty and nearly died from a stroke.  Woodrow Wilson was very dedicated to the line of office to which he was promised and went to any extent to make a difference, even if his life was at stake.  Woodrow Wilson died in 1924 as an honorable and truly unforgettable president and leader of the people of the United States.
