The twenty-third president, Benjamin Harrison, exhibited traits of patriotism, leadership, and honesty. He organized the70thIndiana Regiment during the Civil War. Even before being elected, Harrison contributed to the country by putting his life on the line. He demonstrated the love of his country through his service in the militia. While in office, congress obtained 1 billion dollars which was the largest amount that congress has had so far. This shows that his management of congress leads to great success in the country’s economy. The Congressmen listened to and followed Harrison because of his guidance. In 1890, Harrison signed the Sherman Antitrust Act to help protect trade and commerce from unfaithfulness. He was an honest man and wanted to incorporate truth into the country. This also shows that he did not lose touch in his morals through his experience as president.  Harrison’s efforts and accomplishments during his four years were greatly respected and engraved in the books of history.
