Abraham Lincoln

President Lincoln, having a huge impact on how America functions today, was an incredible president.  He believed that colored people should have the same rights as the white people.  He pursued his beliefs and finally through many battles in the Civil War, he enforced that blacks were to be treated equally.  Lincoln was a very fair and considerate man.  Lincoln earned the nickname of “Honest Abe.”  People respected the honest and sincere qualities that Lincoln possessed.  While Lincoln gave his Inaugural Speech, he said, “…You have no oath registered in Heaven to destroy the government, while I shall have the most solemn one to preserve, protect, and defend it.”  Lincoln showed outstanding leadership ability and his talent to use his words to persuade listeners.  If it wasn’t for Abraham Lincoln, our country would have gone in a divergent direction.  He changed our country for the better and he was an exceptional president.
