President Zachary Taylor contributed many beneficial alterations to the development of the United States. Zachary Taylor was in the military for 40 years defending our country. As a member of the army he wanted to protect and defend the U.S. He was a hero who fought in the Mexican-American War. Because of him we defeated the Mexicans which brought great advantages to our country. His fervent care for the United States as a general in the army showed everyone how much he is concerned about our country. His presidency stumbled upon the question of whether the national government should permit the spread of slavery to the present day states of California, New Mexico, and Utah, the newly won land from Mexico. President Zachary Taylor made a difference in the decision of slavery. The war Zachary Taylor helped win brought new states that would help our country develop into the wonderful country that it is today. Even though President Zachary Taylor had a very short term at office that does not mean it was an unsuccessful one.
