Jimmy Carter (1921-present)

James Earl “Jimmy” Carter Jr., despite his newcomer status and inexperience with Presidency and dealing with foreign affairs and Congress, accomplished a great many things during his term as President.  For example, he increased human and social services by creating the Department of Education, he boosted the Social Security System, and appointed a record number of Blacks, women, and Hispanics to government jobs.  This shows that Jimmy Carter took a personal interest in people to make sure that his country was flourishing well.  In addition, Jimmy Carter is most known for his work with the Camp David Accords, which helped to bring amity between Egypt and Israel.  This shows that Jimmy Carter was a determined, peacemaking man.  Also, he established a national energy policy in order to deal with the energy shortage.  This shows that Mr. Carter had very important priorities when it came to the people and he knew when to take charge.  Throughout my research, I have learned that Jimmy Carter was a magnificent president who strived to overcome many difficulties and let downs in order to do what was best for our country.
