President Dwight D. Eisenhower focused mainly on maintaining world peace while he was in office from January 20, 1953 through January 20, 1961 because of his active duty in the army. President Eisenhower created an “Atoms for Peace” program. This shows that President Eisenhower wanted the world to be a safe environment for all Americans. President Eisenhower financed the French attempt to maintain control of Indochina. This shows that President Eisenhower wanted to unite the United States with other nations to create a better world. Because of his time active duty in the Armed Forces, President Eisenhower devotes himself to the welfare of the American soldiers’. This shows that President Eisenhower hopes for the return of all the American soldiers safe, happy, and healthy, just as he did every time. President Eisenhower accomplished many great things during his presidency, but his greatest devotion was to better world peace.
