President Essay

Gerald R. Ford was our 38th president. He took the oath of office on August 9, 1974. He was the first Vice President to become president under the terms of the Twenty-fifth Amendment. In other words he was the first to ever become president without winning a national election. He was the first President ever to follow the resign of another president.  After becoming President of the United States he said, "I am actually aware that you have not elected me as your president by your ballots, so I ask you to confirm me with your prayers.”  President Gerald R. Ford is a very religious person and gives the country the will to think about what they want about him. Gerald Ford once said,If the government is big enough to give you everything you want, it is big enough to take away everything you have.” Unlike some people who have power and misuse it, Gerald Ford uses his power to do what is right. In 1974, Gerald Ford issued a presidential pardon to Richard Nixon. This shows that Gerald Ford is a very kind man and is eager to forgive anybody. Gerald Ford was a wonderful President that shows great examples of the correct human virtues and compassion towards others who need it.

Gerald Ford did some wonderful deeds while he reigned as the 38th President of the United States of America. He gave an official pardon to Vietnam War resisters. This shows once again President Ford’s kind heartedness and passion for other people. This also shows that he understands the way people act sometime and by pardoning that ace, it can right the wrong that the War resisters did. In the spring of 1975, when he appealed for emergency military aid to help the governments of South Vietnam and Cambodia resist massive Communist offensives. This shows that Gerald Ford is always thinking of others, and he is willing to do what ever he can to help others. As President there were challenges of mastering price increases, revitalizing a miserable economy, solving constant energy shortages, and trying to ensure world peace. As the first President ever to be sworn into Presidency, President Gerald R. Ford did a wonderful job despite all the problems that were going on when he became President. President Gerald R. Ford was a grand president that did everything in his power to make his country and world a better place.
