• females increase their scent markings and become more vocal when sexually receptive
• mating occurs from March to May
• live in the provinces of Sichuan, Gansu, and Shanxi in China
• inhabit montane forests
• newborn cubs weigh 85-140 grams
• most of the young are born in August and September.
• adult shoulder height is 65-70 cm
• lives approximately 26-34 years
